Midsummer 2009 – Reviewed
I survived the weekend. It was really great, better than I had hoped actually. Midsummer eve were spent partly here at my crib with Carina, Emma and Dennis eating herring (yeah, I know – I ate fish – willingly!) and drinking beer. The ladies made some flower garlands and Dennis and I were…. mostly drinking beer and enjoying the sun I think
.

Dinner time!
Anyways, later on the afternoon we made our way to Jimmy (Noordz) who had his birthday celebration at the same time. So we celebrated the “old” guy and then started with the barbequeing. And drank some more beer. And ate a delicious strawberry cake that Carina had made the day before.
I’d say it was a great evening. We also played two games of “kubb” (whatever that is in english…) – but we used beer cans filled with water as markers and golf balls as throwing devices. My team won both games, of course.
The day after were spent on the countryside at my both aunt’s summer houses and then a whole lot of work in Carina’s apartment before her time to move out from her apartment. The same with sunday, together with a visit from her parents for some coffee at my place.

Two of my favorite ladies!
Cake NOM NOM NOM!
Me and my darling <3

The man himself – such a kickass dude!

2 commentsThe Unborn (2009)
I didn’t have much expectations for this movie since I had not heard anything about it until I stumbled across it a couple of days ago.
The Unborn is a horror movie in style with the exorcist. This time we get to follow a girl who are being haunted by her unborn twin brother. It seems like a being called a “dybbuk” (of course some jewish occultism thingie) – which is some kind of being that is stuck between the real world and heaven – wants to be born again. Our protagonist, the girl named Casey, is one hot piece of ass (as you may notice on the poster of the movie). You get to see some nudity, although you’d wish that it was more of that since she’s tight as hell.
Then we get a lot of surrealistic events with even more surrealistic and bizarre ‘monsters’ (see the pictures below). I love it. It makes me think about Silent Hill and the crazy things that is going on in that universe.
You definitely get scared a couple of times during the movie. It’s not only that regular Hollywood-ish scare-you-out-of-yer-pants-by-sudden-loud-noises (although there are some of that junk) – but rather it is a more persistent type of fear which lingers during those strange scenes. And, what’s more – there’s this creepy kid that lingers around. And then there’s this other even more creepy kid that is cooperating with this badass evil spirit. I like it that they make a lot of classical references to old biblical stuff, like kabbalah, sephirot and a lot more.
Howdy Eli, how’s your neckpain going?
Sweetness! Impossible, unnatural and creepy ‘monsters’. That’s what the fuck I’m talking about!
We also get to see Gary Oldman as a Rabbi who will lead the group of people who are trying to fight this vile being. Oldman, as usual, makes a great effort. If I haven’t already stated that he’s one of the best actors ever, then I do it now. Michael Sassone makes a really good contribution by playing Eli Walker, the poor guy that gets infested with the demon and gets his body really deformed (see picture).
Mr. Black-dude-that-has-the-same-haircut-as-I-do just got his ass kicked by a little kid. And the demon conquered his body too.
Carina didn’t really like the movie though since she got so scared by all the sudden events and creepy monsters. That is a good sign. It means it serves its purpose and is truly scary. For once we get to see some classy horror. Not just crap trying to be scary. The quality of fear is important – and this movie managed to seal the deal.
Kids. I fucking hate kids in horror movies. They’re so damn creepy. I love it!
You can’t afford missing it.
WraaoaoaoaoorrrrrrRRrr! Go see The Unborn or I will eat yer brainzzzZzzz…!

DefQon.1 2009 – The Party Report!
So, as I took the day off from work I think I have some time to write a couple of words about the party. As you may already have seen, I’ve posted both pictures and movies from the party.
We flew down to Eindhoven from Skavsta friday afternoon. My crew consisted of me, Emma, Dennis, Lucas, Jim, Tess, Totte and Isac. Of course many of my close friends were missed during the party, I hope they’ll be able to come with me on the next trip.
From Eindhoven we drove to Lelystad, where we had our stay at hotel Apollo (quite nice hotel and good price for the rooms too – if they didn’t screw me over while doing the credit card transactions…).
Friday night we had some beer and just chilled out in our rooms until like… 2 o’clock or something I think. The day after we just had to get out of bed at 8 o’clock in the morning – and start drinking our first beer!
We went from Lelystad to Almere Strand (where the party was held) around half past eleven, and then the real party started for our account. The sun was shining, it was really hot and nice outside. We couldn’t have asked for better weather!
The timetable however seemed to have been changed, so my initial plan on which artists I wanted to see was about to be crashed. I think however I managed to see most of the guys I wanted to see. The initial time-table was the following:

I can’t really recall if this was the correct schedule or it the time was changed compared to the above statement. There’s no doubt that the most interesting stages were BLACK and SILVER, among with the final act of Green (KillSwitch & Reset – Schranz ! <3).
Much of the time though were spent walking around, meeting people, enjoying the sun and drinking beer. Actually, I don’t think I watched one complete set of anybody. I managed to come to the Global Hardstyle meeting at 1300 and the second meeting at 1500. Nice to see some old (and new) faces there!
(By the way, for some top-down images from the event to get a picture of how many people there were, take a look at the Q-Dance site).
As usual there were a shitload of people at the merchandise stand, but I managed to buy some stuff at least when attending the booth a bit later on when the worst crowd was gone.
I liked the effort Q-Dance put into making all these creatures in the sea and on shore. And the people walking/driving around in those scrap-attack vehicles:
The ending was great; the fireworks, the lightshow, everything about it was amazing (except it would’ve been hell of a lot sweeter with hardcore instead of hardstyle. But anyways
).
The favourite acts I saw must have been KillSwitch & Reset (hardtechno!), Noize Suppressor, Donkey Rollers and Unexist. I didn’t catch much of the other ones who played, just bits and pieces everywhere. Even so I really enjoyed my time and I will certainly aim for going back to DefQon.1 next year without a doubt!
Big thanks to all my friends who made this trip possible and so fun – and a shout-out to the ones I missed over there; I hope I will be able to party hard with you guys and girls at the next adventure (which may be Q-Base….?)

Back From Holland!
I arrived back home in my apartment around nine o’clock today. Totally fucked up after an amazing weekend in Holland attending DefQon.1. There are no words that can describe the epxerience. I will let my pictures and videos do the talking instead (which, by the way, are being uploaded at the moment).
Keep looking here for updates. Big thanks to all of my homeboys and homegirls who made this possible. I love you all, and I missed many of you there!
No commentsDefQon.1 2009 – Here I Come!
Tomorrow we’re flying to Eindhoven, and then make our move to Lelystad where we will stay at Hotel Apollo in the city centre. Then on saturday there we be like… total mayhem at the party! Kickass!
See you there or see you when I get back to Sweden, suckahs!
The Hangover (2009)
The Hangover is something you get when you do the drinking too much. Like the guys in this movie did.
Story: One dude is going to get married, so his two best friends and his to-become-wife’s brother decides to take him to Vegas for a bachelor party. It starts with the guys cheering with some jägermeister, and then they call the wife telling her they have lost her fiancé… and the hunt for the fiancé begins, and as the story unfolds they realize they’ve fucked up more than they thought.
It’s a really hilarious comedy with some amazing acting and really great characters. Their adventures and mishaps are just too entertaining, and I must say I had my share deal of laughs.
What more, you get to see a lot of famous profiles in the movie, although they play minor roles (like for instance Mike Tyson and that red-haired stand-up comedian I can’t remember the name of. Carrot Top or something. Just fucking Google it).
Anyways, this movie is worth watching just cause there are so many original characters and kickass crazy situations – like waking up in your hotel suite and realizing there’s a tiger in your bathroom. And then noticing there’s a baby you have never seen before in the closet in the same room.
Just go see this sucker, it’s really worth it! Big thanks to Carina who took me on to this free show at the movie theater =).
No commentsHorton Hears a Who! (2008)
So I had Carina over and we thought we should see a movie to entertain ourselves in the evening. As I tried to convince her that the more gore a movie contains, the better it is, there seemed to be no success for me.
So the choice fell upon Horton Hears a Who! which is an animated movie about an elephant in a jungle that hears some tiny people (“The Whos”) living in a tiny speck. Then there is this badass kangaroo mom who tries to take away the speck from Horton ’cause she loves to control stuff and doesn’t want him to let the “children” think there exists tiny tiny people in a speck. Or something like that. The only thing I really remembered from the movie is Carina laughing like a maniac. But that is not uncommon, so don’t be surprised.
Anyways, I had my laughs too. It’s quite an easy movie aimed for children, so it’s impossible to not enjoy the (somewhat mundane) comedy.
Lower your ambitions for a while and let yourself laugh 86 minutes away with Horton and his pals in the jungle.

Håkan 40 Years Old
Around a week ago (2009-05-30) I went to a party in Linköping to celebrate Håkan becoming a really old guy – 40 years. Here are the pictures from that party:
I want to thank Håkan for a great party with delicious food, tasty things to drink and a lot of nice people. Congrats you old bastard! ;D.
