Valkyrie (2008)
I went to the cinema the other day to watch Valkyrie. You know, this new movie starring Tom Cruise where he’s supposed to be this general in the german army trying to take down Hitler. Presumably based on a true story (haven’t had either time nor will to look it up in detail, but I guess it’s true). In the theater there was me, my lady, and like… 6 other dudes/dudettes. A shitload of space in other words to spread yourself out on.
The movie starts out good, where we get to hear like… a million german soldiers chanting (or rather screaming) out their oath to the führer. In german, of course. Then the language is suddenly changed to english – and kept in english throughout the whole movie.
What a dissapointment. I would’ve rather seen every german officer speaking german instead of speaking the language of the enemy. Anyways, I guess you can’t make Cruise and the others learn german when making the movie (and making it sound real). And I guess it wasn’t an option to hire german actors, since the movie wouldn’t have stood a chance for commercial success.
Valkyrie was really good though, leaving the language used aside. Not so much blood, gore or explosions (although there are some), but the tension felt when they’re getting closer and closer to the führer was really high. The acting was good, and the ending was… well, you’ll have to see it. I won’t spoil it. ( I would’ve spoiled it for you and spare you 2 hours of agony if I didn’t consider the movie worth seeing).
1 commentStephen King (as Richard Bachman) – Rage (1977)
Rage (Swedish title: Raseri) is a short novel written by King under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. The story follows a youngster who murders one of his teachers and takes his high school class as hostage. Of course those recent high school shootings are brought to mind when reading the novel, but those who’ve tried to blame King for what happened are the real fucktards. Anyways.
The book is short (like 180 pages or so), and you’ll finish reading it in a jiffy. The story contained in those approximately 180 pages are although worth every minute you spend reading them. The writing is detailed (as usual) and intriguing. You’ll get to know the main character by the stories he tells his class when they are his hostages. Everything is written as a letter the main character is composing (thus retelling what actually happened during those hours he had his class as a hostage).
I’d really recommend this one for you. It doesn’t even take you long to finish it, so why not? It might even give you some insight about yourself.
No commentsIdiocracy (2006)
Idiocracy is a work by Mike Judge – the man who gave us Beavis & Butthead. This was supposed to be a hilariously funny movie. It was not. It was quite funny. Not hilariously funny.
Anyways – the story. This movie depicts a dude and a hoe (yeah, a real hoe with a pimp and everything) that are frozen down and re-awakened a couple of hundred years in the future. They wake up to a world were human kind has degenerated so much and become so stupid you won’t believe it. So this average dude and this hoe becomes the smartest living people on earth. This is the basis for everything entertaining that occurs throughout the movie.
I must admit that the idea is really great. To have two people who’re initially considered stupid (perhaps not stupid – average is a better choice of word) become (relatively) the smartest ones is like… how can you fail with this? It’s impossible!
And Mike Judge does not fail. I just think there could be so much more to it than it was. Feels like there’s so much unused potential. But I do find it entertaining.
I did not waste my time watching this sucker. I think everyone should see this one and learn the moral of the story. (Which I can reveal to you right now – If you don’t want to live in a catastrophic world, then stupid people should be prohibited to profilerate. Castrate the motherfuckers. And let the clever bastards have sex like rabbits on viagra).
Just go and watch this one
.
Stephen King – The Long Walk (1979)
Swedish title: Maratonmarschen. Another King book that I finished reading the other day on the bus on my way home from work. It is about some dudes (boys) having to walk like… a crazy-ass long distance. If you slow down or stop you get a warning, and after 4 warnings you get shot in the head by soldiers who’re watching this “race”. Or rather – walk. It is a quite cruel story, and I could even feel my own legs hurting when I read it. It’s almost like you’re racing through the book, being curious about who will win this Long Walk.
The Long Walk is quite short – around 400 pages or so. You’ll finish reading it in a couple of days, even if you’re occupied by work or other irrelevant things.
Read it. Now I will head on to the next project – probably Lisey’s story before I put my teeth into The Dark Tower series…
4 commentsThe Orphanage (2007)

“El Orfanato“.I presumed I already had reviewed this crappy movie. But I guess I didn’t bother since it bored me to death. All my friends hyped this sucker so god damn much, that it was supposed to be soooo frightening.
It wasn’t. It was a pile of boring bullshit. And I am not shitting you (pun definitely not intended). There was like one scary scene, involving a kid (yes, kids are always scary) and a doll. Look at the picture at the bottom of this post. That’s it. Now you’ve seen the most scary shit in the movie. Terrifying, isn’t it? (The fact that there’s nothing to this movie but crap…).
The rest of this movie is just pure bullcrap. It is boring, the main characters is hysterical (in a mentally insane way) and there’s no tension at all for the viewer. I can’t believe that critics really liked this poor excuse for a movie.
I might be a bit harsh though. If I wasn’t expecting a horror movie I guess I would have liked it more. But then again – if it wasn’t a horror movie, then why the hell should I bother seeing it at all?
Do yourself a favor and let those bleeding softhearted people waste their time watching this crappy filth while you and I go grab ourselves a horror movie which really is frightening (like 28 days later) and have a damn good time.

That party was like… the best ever. Ever. I think everyone who joined me on that trip agrees with me. 16 hours of euphoria. Found some pictures lying around, so I decided to publish them here. Sweet, sweet memories… I want to get back there. Fo sure.
Too bad I wasted my lovely jacket that I bought at that party. Some motherfucker felt it was OK to steal it, just because I left it behind the DJ booth at a party the other day. May you burn in hell you piece of worthless, disgusting, cock-sucking, mutilated SHIT!
…Oh, anyways – here’s the pictures
Fallout 3 Wallpapers
Here you go suckers, grab them post apocalyptic wallpapers of d00m. They’re like…. godlike.
No commentsSpaceballs (1987)
Yesterday I drank beer and chilled out with my friends, watching Spaceballs from 1987. As you probably already know it is a parody of Star Wars made by Mel Brooks.
It had its stunning moments of funnyness, but it wasn’t really as entertaining as I had hoped. It may be because I was too shitfaced to really care about the fun stuff, but I guess it probably has more to do with the fact that star wars parody is getting old. Everybody is making fun of George Lucass’ universe (which, in fact, really shouldn’t be necessary – the whole Star Wars thing is by itself ridiculous (but cool!) ).
So what did I think about the movie? Is it worth seeing? Of course it is. It is Mel Brooks. But you have to know your Star Wars to find most of the jokes funny. It really works well as a slacker movie. Ahh fuck this, my hangover is so bad I can’t even write anything that makes sense. Go see this sucker if you haven’t already done that.
No commentsStephen King – Everything’s Eventual

Today on the bus on my way home from the job I finally finished reading Stephen King’sEverything’s Eventual (in Swedish though…). This book is a collection of 14 of his short stories:
- Obduktionsrum fyra (org. Autopsy Room Four)
- Mannen i den svarta kostymen (org. The Man in the Black Suit)
- Allt du älskar kommer att försvinna (org. All That You Love Will Be Carried Away)
- Jack Hamiltons död (org. The Death of Jack Hamilton)
- I dödsrummet (org. In the Deathroom)
- Elurias små systrar (org. Little Sisters of Eluria)
- Allting är slutgiltigt (org. Everything’s Eventual)
- L.T’s husdjursteori (org. L.T.’s Theory of Pets)
- Vägviruset drar norrut (org. The Road Virus Heads North)
- Lunch på Café Gotham (org. Lunch at the Gotham Cafe)
- Den där känslan, som man bara kan säga vad den heter på franska (org. That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is In French)
- 1408 (org. 1408)
- En åktur i kulan (org. Riding the Bullet)
- Lyckeslanten (org. Luckey Quarter)
(I copy-pasted the list from Wikipedia). I originally put this book on my wishlist just for the novle 1408 (which you’ve probably seen as a movie). Several of these stories have also been made as movies. I liked all of them. Some were better than others (The man in the Black Suit, Riding the Bullet, 1408, Lunch at the Gotham Cafe and The Road Virus Heads North were the best ones in my opinion). Little Sisters of Eluria is a story that relates to The Dark Tower series, and the main character in the novel is of course Roland.
Buy this book. You’ll like it.

Unbreakable (2000)
Did I mention that I saw Unbreakable the other day? And did I mention that it really sucked big time? I probably already did. Either way it is worth mentioning it again. I just watched it again because I wanted to hear some samples which are used in 2 hardcore tracks.
What a fucking pain. It sucked. SUCKED! Nothing ever happens in the movie. NOTHING. It is just straight out plain god damn boring. Boring, I tell ya.
I’m getting furious just thinking about this crap. Gaaaah!
No commentsStephen King – The Tommyknockers

I finally read it. The book were bought like… 6 years ago or something, but I haven’t really got around to reading it yet. I did it the other day. What can I say? As with the rest of his books it kicked ass, down to the detail. There’s a lot of trivia in the book, like references to much of his other work. Just read the god damn book, I don’t have time to write reviews like this.
Now I’m reading a collection of novels by King – Everything’s Eventual. The story I’m at now is 1408. I guess you’ve seen the movie. I know you want to read the novel.
